Sunnyfields Uniform
At our school, we encourage children to take pride in their appearance and wear their uniform correctly each day. Wearing the school uniform helps promote a sense of belonging, equality and pride in our school community.
Most uniform items are available from Schoolwear in Hendon, as specified below.
Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Your child’s school uniform should be purchased at SCHOOLWEAR, 140 Brent Street, Hendon. NW4 2DR.
Schoolwear Opening Hours are:
Monday to Thursday: 9am-5:30pm
Friday and Saturday: Closed
Sunday: 10am-2pm

Uniform for Years 1 to 6
Girls’ Uniform
- Dark grey knee‑length box‑pleat skirt (Schoolwear only) or dark grey school trousers (Schoolwear only)
Summer dresses are not permitted - White shirt with a collar suitable for wearing a tie
Short sleeves may be worn in summer - Purple V‑neck cardigan with school logo (Schoolwear)
- Purple school tie (Schoolwear elasticated version for Years 1-3. Proper tie for Years 4-6)
- White socks in summer, white or grey tights in winter.
- Plain black smart leather shoes
Boys’ Uniform
- Dark grey trousers or shorts (Schoolwear only)
Cargo shorts are not permitted - White shirt with a collar suitable for wearing a tie
Short sleeves may be worn in summer - Purple V‑neck sweatshirt with school logo (Schoolwear)
- Purple school tie (Schoolwear)
- Black or grey socks
- Plain black smart leather shoes
Shoes
Children must wear smart, plain black, sturdy leather shoes.
- Casual shoes that have the appearance of trainers are not permitted (no labels or logos)
- Boots and fashion shoes are not permitted (Children who wear boots in snow must bring shoes to change into)
- Children in Years 3–6 may bring trainers to change into on days when they play football at lunchtime
PE Kit (Reception to Year 6)
The PE kit is compulsory for all children from Reception to Year 6.
- Team‑colour PE shirt (available from Schoolwear)
- Black PE tracksuit or shorts
- Black plimsolls
- PE bag (purchased from the school)
Additional PE Information
- For indoor PE, children should wear plimsolls or go barefoot
- Trainers should be worn for outdoor games
- Please ensure the PE kit remains in school during the week, as timetables may change
Bags
- Book bag and PE bag must be purchased from the school via Arbor (School Shop)
Hair and Appearance
Children are expected to look smart at all times.
- Long hair should be tied back (purple or white accessories)
- Hairstyles should be appropriate for primary school
- Shaved patterns are not permitted
- Dyed, coloured hair is not permitted
- Long fringes are not appropriate if they prevent a child from seeing the board clearly
- Parents are encouraged to consider hairstyles suitable for the age group
Uniform for Reception and Nursery (Girls and Boys)
- Purple V‑neck sweatshirt with school logo (Schoolwear only)
- Purple tracksuit (Schoolwear only)
- White polo shirt
- Black or grey socks
- Plain black smart leather shoes
- Wellies to keep at school
Reception
- Casual shoes that resemble trainers are not permitted
- Boots and fashion shoes are not permitted
Nursery Only
- Black trainers are permitted for Nursery children only

Name Labels
Please ensure all items of uniform are clearly named. Items do occasionally get lost; clearly labelled clothing is far more likely to be returned. Please also check that your child returns home with their own uniform. If your child brings home another child’s clothing, please return it to your child’s teacher the following day.
