Covid 19

All children are expected to be in school unless they have the symptoms of Covid 19

What to do if you are unsure:

  • Take your child's temperature. Get an accurate reading
  • Consider whether your child is displaying any of the symptoms of Covid 19
  • Go to the web-page link below
  • Speak to the office

The main symptoms of Covid 19 are:                                            High temperature (over 37.8 Degrees)                                        New, continuous cough                                                              Loss of sense of taste or smell   https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

If your child has a runny or blocked nose or is sneezing, they should be in school. Please show them how to cover their mouth when they sneeze. They could bring some tissues to school. If they have diarrhea, they do not need a test but should be at home for at least 24 hours after the last episode.

If your child has one or more symptoms of Covid 19, they need a test. All members of the household need a test or need to stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14 day period starts from the day when the first person in the house because ill.  Siblings should be off school until the results of the test are received.

If your child has one or more of the symptoms of Covid 19, arrange a test. It is not easy to arrange a test and it can take some time and might involve travelling (NOT BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT) Parents should persevere and will eventually get an appointment. It is better to take a test than miss 14 days of school.

PLEASE INFORM THE SCHOOL OFFICE of the reason for the absence and the results of the test

You can seek advice from NHS 111 or arrange a test by dialling 119
