Welcome to Sunnyfields Primary School

Welcome from Mrs Rees

Sunnyfields is a popular one form entry primary school and nursery, set in extensive grounds with an award winning Ecology Garden. Within this beautiful environment children are encouraged to explore the world around them and become inquisitive and responsible in all that they do.

Our broad and balanced curriculum offers children exciting opportunities whilst also encouraging them to aim high and reach their full potential. All my staff work hard to ensure excellent outcomes for all the children with a firm commitment that 'no child is left behind'.

I hope our website provides you with all the information you need. You are, however, more than welcome to contact me if you have any queries or wish to visit us in person.

Best wishes

Mrs Clare Rees, Head Teacher

The New Special Needs Code of Practice

On 1st September 2014, the Children and Families Act 2014 introduced a new framework for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) representing the biggest shift in SEN for 30 years. Please refer to the letter from Edward Timpson, Minister for Children and Families - April 2014. See link below.

All Local Authorities are required to publish information on 'the Local Offer' about all SEND services, along with details of any eligibility for specialist services and a signpost to support for those who do not meet thresholds.

In light of this we have reviewed the School's SEND Policy and Procedures, the Local Educational Authority's Offer, the School's Offer and the annual SEND report. Please look out for details and if there are any questions Mrs Thomson (SENCO) would be pleased to answer them.
